Our Verdict
We recently took the RC Hippo Remote Control Boat out for a test run to see if it lived up to the hype as a go-to pool toy for the 2026 season. It is a surprisingly fun gadget that combines simple remote operation with a clever water-spraying feature.
Performance & Build Quality
The boat is built with a sturdy waterproof frame that feels like it can handle the inevitable bumps against pool walls or rocks in a pond. Its 40cm size makes it substantial enough to handle light ripples while remaining easy for children to transport to their next play session.
Day-to-Day Experience
Setup is straightforward, allowing kids to get it into the water and moving within minutes of opening the box. The remote controls are responsive and intuitive, ensuring that even younger children can master the steering and the signature spray function without a steep learning curve.
This is an excellent gift for parents looking for a durable, high-energy outdoor toy that encourages active water play throughout the summer.
Final Thoughts
With an impressive 4.75/5 rating, the RC Hippo Boat proves itself to be a reliable and highly entertaining choice for any budding young captain. Given the $49.00 price tag, it stands out as a high-quality option for families who want a durable toy that can survive a full season of wet and wild adventures.
